Hi, does a expensive tailpiece on a cello worth it?

Is the F# placement of the tail piece a substitute for the measurements? It was my understanding that that the distance from the nut to the bridge must be six times the distance between the bridgee and where the strings terminate on the tail piece tuners. No?

What about just changing the length of the tail gut instead of changing the different length of the tailpiece ?

Do you have this for violin?

I'd be interested to see if you have the same result without the wood underneath the tailpiece which absorbs quite a bit of the force. The tail piece on concrete (not asphalt) alone might end up with different results.

I have followed your very good instructions! After having setting the bridge in right position ( and soundpost )and convector angle and adjusted the tailpiece ( C- string ring F sharp between bridge and tailpiece and the rest in tune ) the settlement and positions is fixed and very easy to control and maintain just by tuning ( check the F sharp ) and now and then adjust the bridge angle. My cello sounds better and more equaly day by day. Really recommend this to other cellists.

The title of the music in the description is wrong, it’s the Sarabande from the 6th suite, not the 1st.
